The
Williams Agency wins Statewide Tagline Contest!
On Tuesday, September
16, 2008, The Williams Agency was recognized in front of an
audience of more than four hundred entrepreneurs at the State
House for winning the Tagline Contest for the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts Affirmative
Market (AMP) program at its annual kick off event. The tagline,
"Empowering businesses with
the tools to succeed," was selected the
winner among dozens of entries.
The Agency's
President Nicola Williams, who attended the 8th Annual AMP Statewide
Fiscal Year 2008 Kick-off event was surprised to receive the
award, as she had no prior knowledge that the firm was chosen
to receive such an honor. The contest, sponsored by the AMP
program ran during the summer and was open to all entrepreneurs.
As the winner, The Williams Agency received a free one-year
subscription to SMARTBID,
the Commonwealth's enhanced bid management and tracking service.
The
Williams Agency partners with Geovision, Inc.
Public Relations, Outreach, Promotions,
and Communications Planning Services for Statewide Marketing
& Advertising Services Contract # PRF 33
The Williams Agency is pleased to partner
with Geovision, Inc.
as a Subcontractor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Statewide
Marketing and Advertising Services Contract # PRF 33. We have
a longstanding working relationship with Geovision, and since
1995, our firms have collaborated on a number of creative programs
for the state and have produced award-winning work as a team.
Programs we have collaborated on have included: Massachusetts
Department of Public Health Teen Pregnancy Prevention Media
Campaign, Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness, and Abstinence
Education and Awareness campaigns. This statewide contract will
last three years through 2011.

Karen
Glover joins our team!
Karen Glover, MBA, Associate,
The Williams Agency
The Williams Agency is pleased to introduce Associate Karen
Glover, MBA, as the newest member of our team. Karen will serve
as Marketing Communications Manager and lead in managing the
development of all marketing communications projects, including
newsletter, website content development, and other collateral
materials.
Karen has an extensive marketing communications background.
In a career spanning more than 15 years, Karen Glover has gained
expertise across the marketing spectrum. A consummate communicator,
Karen has the ability to translate complex concepts into clear,
compelling messages for target audiences across a spectrum of
formats. Additionally, she has managed and implemented a broad
range of marketing communications projects including newsletters,
websites, direct marketing, market research, event management,
and more.
Most recently, Karen held the position of Marketing Manager
for Greater Boston Food Bank, a large Boston-based nonprofit
organization. She spearheaded a new eMarketing initiative resulting
in a more current, user-friendly website and greatly increased
the organization's capability to reach constituents online.
She also managed several communications projects from the development
of new collateral material to advertising campaigns for the
organization.
One constant throughout Karen's career has been her ability
to maintain a sense of humor while being able to adapt to changing
conditions in a variety of situations. Karen holds a Masters
of Business Administration from the University of Michigan where
she graduated with High Distinction. She received a Bachelor
of Science in Marketing/Advertising from Indiana University.

new Green Marketing client
The Williams
Agency will
provide strategic marketing consulting, brand planning and development,
and public relations services to the American Lung Association
for the New England-wide launch of the "Own
Your Air" public information campaign.

Williams Agency offers communications and event planning services
for state-wide program
The Williams
Agency is
partnering with Parsons Technology over the next five years
in providing strategic communications planning, public education,
industry support, website content development, marketing communications,
and event management and operations for the Massachusetts
Emissions and Safety Testing program.

Sandra
Hammond promoted to Senior Associate.
The Williams Agency is pleased to appoint Sandra Hammond as
Senior Associate. Sandra Hammond will lead on our government
related projects. Prior to joining The Williams Agency, she
was Director of Communications for the Massachusetts Tobacco
Control Program through the Massachusetts Department of Public
Health (MDPH) where she managed several agencies in delivering
a full-scale campaign that received national and international
recognition.
Ms. Hammond worked
closely with Dr. Greg Connolly in the day-to-day oversight of
the Massachusetts Tobacco Control Media Campaign. In this role,
Ms. Hammond was responsible for all aspects of contract oversight,
including programmatic performance, fiscal reporting, creative
strategy, and integration of the campaign with other tobacco
control efforts in the Commonwealth. She also lead the effort
to integrate campaign strategy across diverse populations, bringing
multiple agencies together to coordinate strategy and oversaw
and approved the planning and production of television and radio
advertising, print advertising, grassroots events and strategies
and public relations messaging.
